Code of Conduct – Summary

  • In martial arts there is no first attack, either in thought or action
  • Respect the rights, dignity and worth of all participants regardless of age, gender, ability, race, cultural background, religious beliefs or sexual identity
  • Recognise the valuable contribution made by Coaches who give their time and resources to provide classes for you
  • Respect all Coaches and Officials and publicly accept their decisions
  • Be a positive role model, treat others with the same level of respect you would expect to be shown to you
  • Understand and adhere to the full Code of Conduct
  • Use correct and proper language at all times
  • Do not smoke, consume alcohol or drugs in sport premises or whilst representing your sport
  • Keep to agreed timings for training and competitions or inform your Coach if you are going to be late
  • Pay any fees for training or events promptly
  • Bullying of any sort will not be tolerated
  • Encourage everyone to enjoy Ikkaido and understand that people have different motivations for participating
